After traveling extensively throughout the world, I settled down in Oklahoma and will be teaching elementary students about art and the world!
There is a lack of funding in Oklahoma and, as a result, my class has been left with only two small drying racks for 750 students!
These two drying racks will only hold a maximum of 100 pieces of small art. We desperately need more room to dry projects!!
Your funds will go towards helping an entire school learn about not just art, but all the characteristics that come along with it! We need drying racks to do multi-day projects that involve paint. Through painting, they will learn art history, geography, and recycling. And most importantly, they will learn to be proud of themselves, that different is wonderful, and that mistakes are just another opportunity to be something beautiful.
My Project
We have around 750 students in my elementary school. They range from PK-5th grade and as the art teacher, I see all of these wonderful students!!
They are enthusiastic to learn all about art, but we have a problem - we have NO ROOM to dry our art!
We need drying racks for the class! Your funding will help put racks into our classroom so that for years to come children can enjoy painting and easily put away their work. With Oklahoma being the second least paid teacher state in the country, please help a poor teacher not have to buy these!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
