My Students
My students are kindergarteners from a high poverty area. They come to school with many outside influences that effect their daily lives. They come to school with and academic deficit but they leave with so much knowledge! They are wonderful kids that love to learn and explore. When we are at school we work very hard! My students are part of a co-teaching Reggio inspired classroom. Two groups of kindergarteners work together with two teachers to achieve amazing things. Our students are encouraged to investigate and explore through inquiry based projects and they are taught to love our environment and our classroom community!
My Project
Donations to this project will make a difference because this area rug will be large enough for all of the students in our class to sit on. We do 75% of our instruction on the carpet so we can interact with students and can make it more personal. This carpet also has perfect colors to help create a calm environment in our Reggio inspired classroom. Students will use this rug every day! Not only will we use it for our whole group instruction but also as a space for students to do block play. Myself and the other teacher in our room replace our classroom rug every year. This rug is quality made and can be used for years to come!
