This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember sitting in class with the televisions that were black and white and very much outdated? In a class of 26 students, an IPAD would be a great source for the students to use in small group teaching, making the teaching fun and up to today's 21st century technology.

My 26 students are 1st graders that are hard-working and creative.

Our school is a kindergarten to fifth grade charter school servicing low-income families within an urban community in the state of NJ. Our school's charter was recently renewed and this 2012-2013 year we are privileged to have fifth grade students enrolled in our school. Our school is not only a second home to my students, but also a place where their families come together to work for the future of the school and the students it services. We are a community that truly fosters the mission of "creating life-long learners."

My Project

This Apple Ipad will change my student's lives better in many ways. The Ipad will give my students the opportunity to have a technical interaction during their small group teachings. Having to be relocate our classroom this year to a new building, they took away the computers and the smart boards the students once had. Our math and language arts curriculum programs have many technology based components and it would be great to give my students the fun interaction aligned with our programs.

In today's day in age, it is very important to keep our students updated with the most recent technology.

This Ipad will make a difference for 26 students everyday when we instruct in small group and in centers. The students can share and have fun with the online games and storybook animations to keep them engaged. The Ipad will truly make a difference and show the kids the importance technology plays in today's life.
