This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What do you remember most about elementary school? Be honest. Field trips! And here's a secret: teachers love them too. The only thing really stopping teachers from organizing field trips is money.

The students I teach rarely leave the few blocks surrounding their inner-city neighborhood.

They don't have parents with the resources to take them to museums, libraries and other enriching places. The achievement gap also has another name - the opportunity gap. To know these kids is to love them, and when you do love students you want the world for them. You want them to have positive and engaging experiences. Field trips have that power.

My Project

Imagine getting on a bus in an urban setting and after 2 short hours arriving at an apple orchard in the mountains with people dressed in Revolutionary War outfits. After that, the children spend the next few hours living in 18th century colonial America on the cusp of revolution. The money you donate will go directly to student admission.

To convince you how important this project is I ask you to take just a few seconds to remember the field trips from your youth.

In these tough financial times, field trip budgets are being slashed. Help us make the American Revolution come to life and create an experience that won't be forgotten!
