My Students
My students are the oldest and future first graduating class in our brand new charter school. This charter school launch is a source of pride as this has been a long road and the culmination of a great deal of volunteer work in our community.
Our students will only receive one third of traditional funding from our state.
These students are melting pot of children from our and neighboring communities that are choosing to come and learn in a STEAM school environment. This class of students are our school trail blazers!
My Project
All students want to know where they live. Most want to know where Florida, Texas and Disney World are located. My third graders will use the flagship carpet rectangle American Doodle Map classroom rug to sit on daily. My class will meet there and learn. This map/rug will be our focal point. The students will learn the state abbreviations and where each state is located in relation to our state. This space will build our classroom community. This rug will answer their questions.
This American Doodle Map classroom rug will be an artifact that creates that warm welcoming learning space.
It will be aesthetically pleasing and conducive to learning.
