Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
April is poetry month and my students have been working very hard in becoming great writers and artists! For this special month of beautiful weather and nature, I would like them to become great poetry writers!
We know --Poetry encourages creative thinking and amazing inspiration!
Poetry can have a positive impact on the social and emotional learning of our students. It may offer them a new way of thinking about something. It can put things into words that my students may not know how to express otherwise. Poetry will encourage them to express themselves and their feelings.
Please, help me give my students these tools and materials to inspire them to become great poets!
The students will use the fun shaped and colorful Post-it notes to collect ideas to write their own poems. They will be inspired to work on their favorite poems collection and responding to poetry through text and art.
The notepads and rainbow pencils will be used for inspiration around the school and at home.
The laminating sheets will be used to publish and protect their amazing work. The pocket charts will be used to display their work!
