Many of them immediately crowded around the totes, flipping through the colorful books and sharing what caught their eye. One student exclaimed, \"¡Mira esto!\" as they discovered a story that reflected their own experiences, while another carefully sorted the books by cover illustration and topic. Their curiosity and joy were infectious, and it made me so proud to see how these resources instantly captured their interest.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the totes in various ways to support our reading and literacy goals. During our small-group reading sessions, students choose a book from the tote and practice reading aloud, retelling the story, or acting out scenes. One memorable moment was when a student used one of the leveled books to lead a mini-storytelling circle, sharing the plot with peers who followed along and asked questions. The materials sparked collaboration, discussion, and confidence, giving my students more ownership of their learning than ever before.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to build on this enthusiasm with a project where each student will create their own \"story journal\" inspired by the books in the totes. They will write, draw, and reflect on the stories they read, deepening comprehension and fostering a love of reading. Your generous contribution has given my students tools, opportunities, and inspiration, and it is shaping the way they see themselves as readers every day.","fullyFundedDate":1757302194515,"projectUrl":"project/book-totes-to-cultivate-readers-in-our-s/9691631/","projectTitle":"Book Totes to Cultivate Readers in Our Self-Contained Classroom.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carrillo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10245416_orig.jpg?crop=3641,3642,x0,y169&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764646394025","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10245416"},{"teacherId":7340675,"projectId":9448069,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our dual language classroom.
