This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

Many come to school without the basic needs at home. My job is to ensure they receive the tools they need to help them be prepared and successful students who are career and college ready!

They are the reason I teach!

My Project

I aim to incorporate art education into our third grade classroom. Our students do not receive any art education and I believe art is key to fostering their creative side! I'm excited to encourage this journey with these young third grade artists!

I am incorporating art projects into our ELA curriculum to help reinforce the standards taught.

If each student has their own personal portfolio to keep their artwork safe and organized, they will learn about caring for and preserving their work, as well as keeping it organized for the end of the year. They will also have a safe means for transporting their art home at the end of the year!
