My students come from low-income families and they do not have the funds to buy basic school supplies. These are important basic resources that will be used daily by my students, at home and school.
The binders will help them keep their work organized between home and school, also allowing for great communication with parents and families. This will help them to have their materials handy, in an organized and neat way. The binders contain everything they need to be avid note-takers, an important life skill. For example, the notebooks are used for math and language notes, the folders to organize homework and take home items, the pencil pouch allows them to keep all of their writing tools in one location. Headphones are so helpful throughout the year, as the students use them weekly for testing and online activities.
Giving the students basic supplies will ensure that all of the students in my class have an equal start and have the supplies and materials that they need to learn to the best of their abilities in order to be college/career ready!
