This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Do you remember the financial pressure you felt as you prepared to graduate from high school? There were senior fees to pay, graduation announcements to order, and college application fees. As Advanced Placement students, they have the additional pressure of college-level academics.

The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch, but I want their drive to be successful on the AP exam to be as fruitful as possible.

My students attend school from 7:30 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon daily, and this does not even include their extra-curricular activities. They are dedicated members of the volleyball team, basketball team, and student government. Your help would really ease their burdens as dedicated students and positive contributors to their campus community.

My Project

Around 30% of the students in my class have no Internet access to AP prep materials when they leave school. My students need 25 AP English Literature test prep books to get ready to BEAST the AP exam in May! Last year, 40% of my students passed the AP Language and Composition exam using these same supplemental materials. This year, our numbers will be even higher with your help!

As students in a title one public charter school, my students have been immersed in the importance of college.

This course is yet another way they show their dedication to their bright futures.
