The new resources such as the sensory beads and stress cubes have been transformative in helping my students explore healthy coping strategies. During our recent anxiety group, these tools were in constant use alongside the painting by sticker activities, which provided a focused, calming outlet for students. Beyond tactile tools, the self-compassion workbooks and mindfulness journals have allowed my students to dive deeper into self-reflection, giving them a safe space to process their thoughts and build emotional resilience.\r\n\r\nThe moment the materials arrived, the atmosphere in the room shifted to one of pure excitement and intrigue. My students were truly touched to receive such high-quality, meaningful resources dedicated solely to their well-being. Seeing their faces light up made it clear that they felt seen and supported, not just by me, but by a community of donors who care about their success. They are already finding ways to apply what they've learned here on campus to their lives at home.\r\n\r\nWe are currently wrapping up our group and individual sessions for the academic year. It has been incredible to watch the students transition from learning about these concepts to actively utilizing their grounding techniques and coping resources in real-time. Their awareness is growing every day, and thanks to your contribution, they now have a tangible \"toolbox\" to help them manage their emotions and navigate challenges with confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1769177458339,"projectUrl":"project/building-resilient-students-safe-space/9866476/","projectTitle":"Building Resilient Students: Safe Space Tools for Big Feelings","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10336726"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_99277","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":605,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":61,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.5,"schoolId":99277,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about KIPP Sunnyside High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"KIPP Sunnyside High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/kipp-sunnyside-high-school/99277"}
