Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students learn best when they can move or adjust their position throughout the day.

Flexible seating allows for appropriate movement, which can increase focus and reduce off-task behavior.

When students are physically comfortable, they are better able to concentrate on instruction and complete academic tasks successfully.

Flexible seating also promotes student responsibility and independence. Students learn to make thoughtful choices about where and how they work best, which supports self-regulation skills. These skills are essential for academic success and help students take ownership of their learning environment.

In addition, flexible seating supports collaboration and classroom community. Different seating arrangements allow students to work independently, in pairs, or in small groups, depending on the activity. This flexibility encourages communication, cooperation, and positive peer interactions.

Overall, flexible seating creates a student-centered learning environment that supports diverse learning styles, increases engagement, and fosters a positive classroom culture. By meeting students’ physical and learning needs, flexible seating can help maximize student success and participation.
