Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are dual language immersion learners that switch classes midday. They are active and energetic and thrive when given options to access material. Flexible seating is crucial for the today's learners. Students need varied seating options for their day in the classroom and I firmly believe in giving my students the option of working in various areas within the classroom in order to better serve their individual learning needs and help with focus. Having choices for comfortable floor seating and chair bands when sitting at desks will support Universal Design for Learning by giving any student access to these tools as needed.

I want to provide my students with a functional classroom rug for whole group instruction and a comfortable rug to have in our reading corner, as well as floor cushions and bands for independent work.

These additions will benefit both the social-emotional and academic needs of my students.
