I teach an energetic group of 3-5 year olds in a Head Start program. In our school, students stay in their classrooms for two years allowing them to build strong relationships and learn to love coming to school everyday. We celebrate diversity and growth for students at all levels of development.
In our classroom we believe that mistakes just prove that you are trying and as long as you do your best you will always learn something.
We spend our days learning through hands on activities and exploration. I believe each student has the potential to do amazing things when given the tools. We love to find creative ways to use items to develop new skills.
My Project
My students are in love with letters and discovering how to write their names and names of their friends. These items will encourage everyone in the class to explore letters in a hands-on way while learning to form their letters.
These letter learning toys will help students of varying abilities to develop fine motor skills necessary to start writing.
The items I have selected from Lakeshore Learning are meant to allow letter exploration through multiple senses. Tactile letters provide a sensory experience while learning the forms of letters. The magnetic letters and pre-writing boards allow students to practice fine motor skills and forming letters in a fun way. Who doesn't love magnets!
