My Project

Before each of us heads out to work, or school, or play we must all secure our shoelaces, if we are wearing shoes with laces. Not only do they ensure the proper fit of your shoe, but they can prevent an injury if secured properly. It could almost be said that shoelaces have been instrumental in modernizing the world. Many of my students, in my 5th grade classes, have not mastered the lifeskills of tying their shoe laces properly.

Providing them with stretchy, no tie laces in fun colors and patterns may help remedy the safety hazard that this causes.

In addition, my students are really into cool sneakers to express their style and individuality. I would like to provide my students an option to choose a cool pair of laces for making positive choices instead of sugary treats and other empty calorie snacks.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
