Help me give my students a magnetic board and supplies for the classroom that are just the right size for them and will enhance their independent station time.
I teach Pre-K at an Early Childhood School in Texas. My class is a blended class, consisting of at-risk students based on income, English is their second language, or they have special needs. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, energetic, and always ready to experience something new!
They love to move, read, and learn! Many of them are being raised in single-parent households, and all of my students receive a free breakfast/lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. My goal is to inspire even our earliest students to become lifelong learners!
My Project
These materials will help enhance my students small group and independent station times.
The tall magnetic board is just the right size for my little students to use and be independent.
My students have had the kwik sticks and the roll on painters before and are super excited about getting them again. They are a fantastic way for students to be creative with paint but a whole lot less messy.
The word building puzzles will be a great independent station for my students and well as the magnetic board and magnetic letters. They will be able to build the three or four word puzzle and then spell it on the board.
The last item is the following directions building set. One of our main guidelines for preK is to be able to follow two and three step directions and this kit can help students with that goal.
