My Students

Hello,

My name is Mrs. Reed.

I teach Special Education students who are placed in inclusion classrooms. They are wonderful students who enjoy learning. They try very hard at each task they are given. Anyone could see, just by observing them in the classroom, that they love school. Reading concepts are often difficult for them and might not always come naturally but their effort pays off. Many of them are currently working on increasing their reading fluency and comprehension skills. They are the best and deserve the best!

My Project

Flexible seating allow students to take control of their learning. It provides them with opportunities to be independent and show ownership. They take pride in their work and are more successful.

Flexible seating also facilitates student behavior.

When students are given choice in type of seating they want to use during lessons, their behavior is often better. Many of my students have an abundunce of energy which casues them to have a difficult time sitting still. This is a distraction not only to their own learning but others as well. Wobble stools and cushions provide students with the abilty to wiggle which allows them release that energy. With less distractions, more learning can happen!
