Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We, a collection of teachers across the grade levels, have the privilege of teaching a very diverse family of scholars in a Title I school in Lawrenceville, GA. Many of our students come from diverse backgrounds and various socioeconomic situations! Our students are remarkable and would benefit from support to get what they need to be truly successful! Our goal is to transform our libraries into reflections of our children!
My Project
Our school is filled with a beautiful variety of diverse learners. Our passion project is transforming our classroom libraries into Wonderlands that mirror our classrooms! We would love for all of our students to have access to a range of books that they can connect to and continue to foster a true love of reading; not just assign books that kids HAVE to read but WANT to read! Students will have access to books at home and at school that will show them that they can excel as readers and writers; not only writers but anything else they can imagine! The beauty of literature is that it opens the door to a world of possibilities that anything you can imagine is possible! This is our dream for our students! We want them to see all of the possibilities before them…. We want them to imagine, dream, hope, and achieve! They are capable of greatness!
