This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is dedicated to closing the learning gap by challenging the norm of education through our creative and innovative strategies to reach our black and brown scholars. Many of our scholars experience hardship frequently, and we are here to support them through their educational and life journey. We believe that having a stable learning environment will move our scholars ahead to greater successes in higher education. We inspire our scholars to reach high levels of academic and social achievement and become future leaders through a collaborative support system. With our scholars at home in Distance Learning, they need our help and support even more. We need to get some supplies into their hands so that we do not miss valuable learning opportunities.
My Project
We are looking to get some colorful linking cubes to help scholars learn several early math skills. With so much screen time and limited resources, we want to build a math kit to help teach skills such as patterning, counting, comparing, sorting, number sense and simple operations such as adding and subtracting.
We are uncertain about what this school year will look like and need to get tools into the hands of our littlest learners.
They are so eager to learn and grow, we want to support that enthusiasm and make this online experience rich and meaningful for them.
