Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work after school with a variety of high school aged students who have various learning needs. Some of my students are in our school's I.B. program, while others have individual education plans in place to help their educational needs. The one thing that is the same about these fabulous teens, is their desire to want to become more active and learn how to run. As a result, I lead a long distance running club after school. I would like to help my students increase their distance and set personal healthy lifestyle goals in the process.
My sweet and lively students need comfortable athletic gear to wear as they are working out after school.
Working in an urban setting, our school is comprised of many students from low-income households. Unfortunately, they don't all have the attire needed to go out on comfortable long distance runs.
My Project
We're building our after-school running club and the children need athletic gear. Our group has a variety of ability levels and we are incorporating fitness into their lifestyle. Students meet after school to set fitness goals and to motivate each other to create healthier habits. Unfortunately, the resources we have are limited.
With your generous donation, we will be able to provide comfortable running attire for our students to use for long-distance running.
We want to provide the students with proper running gear to give them comfort as they move in the right direction towards fitness, running and a healthy lifestyle.
