Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from various backgrounds and various life experiences. They are able to support one another when a child is needing an extra lift. They love that their teacher always tries to make sure that they feel love and support no matter what situations may arise throughout the day. They love to learn and apply their knowledge in various ways including learning in a room that is transformed for a special lesson. They love a room where they are able to move around and sit in various options where they feel comfortable along with being focused.

My Project

Imagine sitting in a math class that was not engaging nor had resources to help you learn a math concept. This would be a horrible math class! With this project, YOU will be able to provide games that students can use during small group centers that will allow them to "show off" their skills in a fun and engaging way. The games will allow the students to think critically and apply the knowledge that they have learned in whole group or small group setting. Even better, they will be able to collaborate together as a group to help each other learn. The manipulatives will allow those students who need extra support be able to use something that will help them be successful mathematicians. That is a huge part in making students feel that success in a subject that they might not enjoy.
