Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Every year, we learn essential library skills: how the library is organized, choosing "just right" books, and book care. At the beginning of the school year, I use books to teach kids about the library, how to find materials in the library, and how to take care of the books that they borrow.

Learning how to use the library and how to take care of books are important life skills.

This project will supply our library with books about book care, such as Read It, Don't Eat It, and Manners with a Library Book. It will also provide our library with new books about choosing appropriate books for reading and interest levels. In addition, it will provide bookmarks kits for our 3rd- 5th graders to reinforce good book care.
