I teach at a Title I school in a low-income area where eighty percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of my students are second language learners. Most of them do not have any school experience before entering kindergarten, but they don't let that hold them back. They crave social interaction and an opportunity to express themselves.
My students are kind and hardworking children who enjoy playing and discovering with friends.
They are always motivated and have a very positive attitude toward learning.
In Kindergarten, there are many standards that my students need to master by the end of the school year. One of them is learning to identify and forming all of the letter names and sounds of the alphabet. To help students reach their goal, we focus on one letter a week. The All About Letters Pocket Chart provides a variety of materials such as letter chants, colorful picture cards and a write and wipe surface that helps teach proper letter formation. I am also requesting for a giant-sized magnetic writing sheet to teach writing. I will use this writing sheet to demonstrate whole class writing concepts such as letter formation and spacing between words and capitalization. Your donation to this project will help making learning fun for all of my students.
