My Students

My students are eager to learn each day in our 7th grade classroom, despite the fact that we are Title I School. Every day we start our class with the African Proverb, "I Am Because We Are." Our students have challenges, but I firmly believe that they each have the potential to persevere.

One way for the students to persevere, is have access to more technology and help them be aware of 21st Technological skills that will be needed.

Not every student comes from a home where they can purchase a Chromebook; having them in class will give them opportunities that they otherwise might not have experienced.

In addition to using them for my Language Arts classes, I want to allow my inspiring poets to have access as well to publish their pieces and display their creativity to the world.

My Project

Having a set of two more Chromebooks will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. Students can have better access to our Google Classroom, research information, and improve their skills using technology. Most recently, we have started our Argumentative Unit, and students have been introduced to Hyperdocs. Using these Hyperdocs, students can have access to various texts, videos, and etc. to help them support their claims, and use evidence in their writing.

My project will make a difference because, every opportunity to use technology using higher order thinking skills is an opportunity worth every minute.

Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. Your donations will help my students in countless ways and your assistance is greatly appreciated.
