Help me give my students bulletin board to highlight important and vocabulary. The use of interactive boards in the classroom ensures that students recognize the importance of the posted materials.
Our students are unique because of the diversity found within our classroom. Currently I teach inclusion Algebra 2, serving approximately 150 students. I also have two co-teachers named Ms. Potter and Mr. Jones. For those who don't know, inclusion education is the integration of special needs students with the general population.
My classroom is a place for diverse students to learn and grow into young adults with the skills to thrive in our ever developing world.
These students come from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Our school is almost all low income with students from all around the world making 39% of our students English Language Learners as well. We have been named the most diverse school in the state of Arkansas. Our goal is to provide every possible advantage for our students to develop the skills necessary to become as successful as they can be, regardless of how their disability may try hinder them.
My Project
Currently in my classrooms, 48% are receiving some type of ELL service, and 35% of my students are receiving some type of special education service. Because of this, it is important to have vocabulary and material related to what we are learning about around the room.
Bulletin boards are an important component of classrooms and can lead to building interest, motivation, interaction, and review.
. They provide a way to introduce new material or display student work. The use of interactive boards in the classroom ensures that students recognize the importance of the posted materials.
I plan on using bulletin boards in several ways.
First, it can create motivation. A bulletin board can display outstanding work of students. Students will be motivated to do better on assignments to have their work displayed. After viewing their work posted on a bulletin board, students develop a sense of pride, ownership and motivation to continue to create work that is worthy of attention.
Secondly, bulletin boards create a form of interaction. Students will spend more time viewing and attempting to understand interactive bulletin boards. This type of kinesthetic learning will encourage students to build understanding.
Third, bulletin boards can spark interest in students. Many students dread math, and this can be used as a way to get them interested in what we are learning.
Lastly, bulletin boards can be used to revisit concepts that have been previously covered in class. Students will enjoy seeing a board full of information that they have already learned about. Bulletin boards will be used to review older concepts and provide encouragement to students as they realize just how much they have learned.
