My Project

In our Pre-K classroom, we want children to feel confident in their ideas and empowered to take charge of their learning. The Air Toobz system will give them a hands-on, screen-free way to design, test, and revise their own creations — all while exploring early STEM concepts in a playful, self-directed way.

Air Toobz makes invisible air visible.

When children build their own pathways and watch a pom-pom shoot through the tubes, they instantly become the engineers of their own experience. They decide how to arrange the tubes, predict what will happen, and make adjustments based on what they observe. Every success and every “oops, let’s try again” strengthens their confidence and resilience.

For many of our students, this is their first time leading an investigation on their own. Our families work long hours, and school becomes the place where children have true agency — a place where their ideas matter. By giving them materials they can control, redesign, and improve, we’re helping them see themselves as capable problem-solvers.

This project supports the natural play schemas young children use to understand the world: connecting and disconnecting pieces, exploring how objects move, and transforming designs with each new idea. These experiences help them develop independence, collaboration, and the belief that they can figure things out through persistence.

With your support, our students will gain the confidence to take risks, make choices, and trust their own thinking — skills that extend far beyond STEM. Air Toobz will give them the chance to lead, create, and proudly say, “I did this.”
