I teach 7-8 year old students in a third grade classroom located on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. Our classroom community is culturally and academically diverse. My students range largely in academic ability and learning styles. The academic abilities in my room range from first grade to fourth grade in the areas of reading and mathematics. My students love to have fun, to play, and challenge me to come up with ways of learning that I may not have been exposed to previously.
My Project
Fall is upon us and with that comes airborne illnesses. We do everything we can do to prevent our students from getting sick and to stay in school by frequent hand washing, covering our sneezes and coughs, washing tables, etc. But sickness inevitably happens. An air purifier would be a useful addition to our classroom to help keep us healthy and learning.
An air purifier would help prevent illnesses from spreading and boost our fall and winter attendance.
With our current preventive measures and the addition of the air purifier and additional filters, my classroom will be equipped to take on cold and flu season!
