AI for Social Good: Empowering Student Voices Through Responsible Tech

Help me give my students a pi-top, a programmable computer and robotics system that lets students build, code, and experiment with electronics. Implementing hands-on AI, robotics, and science tools to empower student voice through emerging technologies.

My Project

I love that my students are curious, thoughtful, and motivated by solving real problems that impact their communities. They ask why, they want to understand how systems work, and they are most engaged when learning is hands-on and meaningful.

Students will investigate real-world scientific and social issues through data analysis, computational modeling, and responsible AI design.

They will prototype tech solutions that address community challenges like environmental justice, healthcare access, and biased algorithms, building both scientific understanding and tech fluency.

The MatataStudio Nous AI Set will allow my students to explore artificial intelligence concepts like machine learning, computer vision, and voice recognition in an accessible, hands-on way. The Ozobot Ari Entry Kits will help students build foundational skills in coding, problem-solving, and computational thinking while seeing how robots sense, respond, and make decisions. The pi-top Robotics & Electronics Superset will give students an authentic engineering experience, combining computing, electronics, and robotics so they can build from the ground up, investigate scientific ideas, and design responsible technology solutions.

Together, these resources will empower my students to learn by doing, amplify their voices, and see themselves as scientists, engineers, and technologists using AI for social good.
