This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom mostly come from low-income and/or single-parent households. My students are full of energy and excited about their learning! Each of my students has specific learning needs in order to be successful. Can you imagine being 7 or 8 and sitting at a desk all day?!?

In my class, I would like my students to feel comfortable and learn the way that works best for them.

The best way for that is flexible seating which will allow them to sit in a way that helps them do their best and focus while also being comfortable. Since we use flexible seating it is important to remain safe keeping their backpacks off the floor.

My Project

This cart will make a huge difference for my class. I teach 24 second graders that occupy a lot of space. We use a full flexible seating classroom so students do not always have a desk to keep their backpacks at. It becomes a huge safety concern because students trip over their backpack and lunch bags.

This rack will allow students to keep their belongings secure and free of the floors near them.

The rack will assist with having a tidy space for their backpack and lunch bags without fear of damage. With organization, students will be more focused on their learning free of any fuss that occurs with a disorganized area.
