My Students

My students are all very different, but all so very amazing. They are bright and spontaneous. They are caring and noble. They are determined to find their way in the world outside the school doors. My students live in a tight-knit urban community. My classroom is built as a safe haven for students to express themselves verbally, emotionally, and physically without penalty. My classroom is built upon good morals and fixing mistakes while appreciating the many different cultures our classroom community brings together. As middle schoolers, each and every one of my students is in the process of discovering who they are as individuals, making decisions in their present that will change and impact their futures forever. My students are all amazing. They don't need much to succeed because they are brilliant and resilient, but they deserve so much more than I can give them as their teacher!

My Project

The softball program at our school has been growing over the last 5 years. Unfortunately, the pandemic put our growth on hold for the safety of our players, but we are eager and excited to channel our efforts this year towards working on the agility and mechanics needed to have a successful season. We will be using the different sized balls to help build strength and proper hitting form and the batting tees will be replacing our currently overused and broken tees. The agility and mechanics training resources in this project will help us to continue growing our off-season training program and allow more players to join the fun!
