My Students

Many would believe that waking up each morning, Monday through Friday, and having the opportunity to lead, challenge, and motivate 755 of the most engaging, enthusiastic, and dedicated scholars would be a dream, but in actuality, this is our reality everyday.

We are blessed to mold the minds of our middle level scholars by providing a real world learning experience that is equitable, engaging, and meaningful to producing the future leaders of our world.

In our rural, Title 1 middle school in South Georgia, our students come from various cultures, family structures, and learning ability levels, but when we all join together in our schoolhouse, we are ALL working towards a common goal: being the change that we wish to see in ourselves, our schoolhouse, our community, and our world.

My Project

As middle school educators, we are constantly searching for ways to ensure our students are successful in ALL that they do. We have seen various learning deficiencies in core subjects that have stunted the mastery of power standards brought on by the fluidity of the the Covid-19 pandemic. One intervention that we have created to help combat these learning gaps is to implement an after-school tutorial program for our 6-8 students. With this, we want to ensure that our students stay engaged with learning, so we know that we must provide our students with the snacks and drinks necessary to maximize their attention, learning, and growth.

This project will bring our students involved with after-school tutorials snacks (chips and fruit snacks) and drinks (juice boxes) to keep them ready, responsible, and resilient.

We know that if a student is fed, they will perform a lot better than if they were on an empty stomach, so this project will go a long way in providing our students with these resources. We appreciate your support with these efforts. Thank you!
