This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Preschool is the beginning of an individuals educational experience. A classroom carpet area that is bright and stimulating is an excellent way to begin and end your day.

The preschoolers in my class will be interested and excited about the new world that awaits them inside the classroom!

My school services a low income, culturally diverse population that is primarily English Language Learners. My goal is to provide an engaging learning environment and hopefully give to each child a positive first experience in school.

My Project

With the current economic situation our state still faces, and this being the programs first year, there is no place in the budget for a new learning adventure center for the preschool. I am requesting a bright, cheerful carpet and an activity center chart for my classroom. In this area my students will hear many stories read aloud, learn to count, the days of the week, how to distinguish shapes, and all the colors of the rainbow. Not only in this area will they sing and dance, they will spend time socializing and making friends.

Hundreds of children will experience the joy of learning in our new area for many years.

Simple items like these can make a big impact on the atmosphere of the classroom and maximize student engagement.
