Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 8th-grade students are preparing for one of the biggest milestones of their lives, transitioning from middle school to high school. Many of my students have built strong friendships, overcome challenges, and grown tremendously during their time together. I want to celebrate their accomplishments and give them a meaningful keepsake they can treasure as they begin their next chapter.

This project will provide each student with a special 8th-grade graduation gift bag that symbolizes friendship, encouragement, and future success.

Each clear gift bag will include:

A small teddy bear where classmates can write messages and signatures as a memory keepsake. Inspirational compass bracelets with encouraging messages reminding students to always find their way and follow their dreams. A small resin graduation duck to symbolize their achievement and bright future ahead

Clear gift bags to beautifully package each student’s farewell gift. These gifts are more than simple items; they are reminders that each student is supported, valued, and capable of achieving great things. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and a thoughtful farewell gift would make them feel celebrated and recognized for all their hard work.

My goal is to send my students to high school with confidence, encouragement, and a lasting memory of the friendships and community they built in middle school.
