Help me give my students an opportunity to read with more books. Also, many of my students are having a hard time doing their "work" using their laptop's trackpad. They need child-sized mice to make it doable!
I love my kids! This fall, I'll share 47 excited friends in our two first grade classes. A dozen will learn in person. The rest will learn remotely.
My first graders make my heart sing!
They are inquisitive little sponges who love to learn, talk, dance, and play. They share stories about their families through their writing. They will have their greatest amount of reading growth this year. The math that they will be able to do at the end of the year always amazes me.
If this group of students is anything like those I've had in the past, they will embrace our classroom's mantras, "Practice makes progress!" and "I can't do it...yet!" and "This is how we do it!" (cue the disco music).
Many of my students have experienced trauma and challenging family situations, and many are English Learners, but they mostly come to school, even over Zoom, with smiles on their faces, ready to learn, every day. What more could I ask for? I am blessed!
My Project
My kiddos are doing less paper and pencil work. They are using a really cool platform called Seesaw to submit their work--submit is now a first grade vocabulary word!
They need small mice for small hands!
This will help them complete their work in Seesaw. It's not every day that my kiddos get new books! They need replacement white board markers because our math lessons require the kids to show me their thinking using a white board. Replacement markers will make very happy kids. Laminating pouches will make very happy teachers!
