My Students

My classroom is made up of students that have multiple disabilities. Some students assigned to my classroom may have visual impairments and require adaptive equipment to accommodate their needs.

My students respond best when presented with multisensory learning activities.

Use of learning materials with visual, auditory and tactile properties make for a more stimulating learning experience and allow students to achieve their potential.

Use of bright colors, illumination and high contrast help to provide an optimum educational experience for students with low vision.

My Project

My students need an adjustable beam floor lamp to meet their special needs. Some students with visual disabilities require adjustments to lighting in order to minimize the impact of their visual impairment.

An adjustable beam LED task lamp provides good safe lighting that can be adjusted to suit the individual needs of each student.

It is important to have the appropriate amount of lighting to meet the needs of a student that has a visual impairment. Increasing the quality of lighting can reduce the amount of magnification required for a student to use vision effectively. Good lighting can increase contrast and clarity significantly.
