Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have 26 students in my class. ( 14 boys and 16 girls). They are so sweet, dedicated, intelligent and eager to absorb everything I teach them. I love my them all.They come from low income homes, sometimes living with a single parent. Some of them are new arrivals from Central America. They are so grateful for the opportunities they are getting in our country, they are giving their best, their all to learn English.

One of their favorite things to do in class is our English Development block.

They love Shared Reading where they get to read with me and pay close attention to pronunciation, intonation and voice. They cant wait for that part of the day!

I'm certain that with the curriculum we have in place at my school and with the right learning tools, my students will be ready for next year. They will say goodbye to Bilingual Program and Hello to 3rd Grade all English content.

My Project

The headset with a microphone will help my students with the interactive sessions, answer questions and record themselves in Language and Literacy. All recordings go directly to the educator portal where teachers can listen to them and monitor progress. Additionally, it is important for the students to listen to themselves and compare recordings from the beginning of the year to later times throughout to check their improvement.

Moreover, this project is going to be an excellent addition to my classroom teaching/learning tools.

This headset will allow me to help future students every year. Thank you!
