My Students

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." - Dr. Seuss

My students are ready to GO!

I teach to a culturally and linguistically diverse population of kindergartners in high poverty, high needs, an urban area in Oregon.

My students are engaging, awesome people who are learning to find their place in the world. They are scientists and dreamers, negotiators, and schemers, at times cautious and at times reckless. They are exciting AND excited.

My Project

A learning environment that facilitates clear communication is critical. More than 60% of classroom learning activities involve verbal communication and interactions. We read books, students ask questions, instructions are given. Chairs and desks scraping on the floor increases the background noise and makes it harder for students to work.

This Tennis Ball Cutter will help me lower the background noise and create a calmer classroom.

Believe me, kindergartners are noisy enough already! A calmer classroom will help students to focus during quiet work times.

Having a Tennis Ball Cutter will help me easily replace soiled tennis balls on the chairs. (It's kindergarten - sometimes there are milk spills). Thank you so much for your support!
