Adding to Our Pretend Play in Pre-K

My Students

I am the teacher of 3- to 5-year-old children. We are in a public school and serve Exceptional Children with their unique needs as well as children within our community who may not have access to quality preschool before kindergarten. We are in a Title I school with 75% of the children receiving free and reduced-price lunch.

The growth that these children show in their year(s) with us is amazing.

I would like to give more access to creative fun experiences within the indoor and outdoor learning environments.

My Project

We are exctied to add pretend animals, people and foods to many of our centers! I would like to add updated animals to blocks that include realistic versions of animals that our from our children's area as well as animals and insects from various regions of the world. I would like to also add diverse foods to our pretend centers.

Adding foods and animals from various regions of the world, will expand our young preschoolers view on the world and different animals/foods that are from those areas.

Adding these items will also introduce our kiddos to animals that they may have never heard of or seen representations of before. This will lead to many more conversations and research on new and interesting animals/foods.
