Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school in the Bay Area in CA. A majority of my students are first-generation Americans with hardworking immigrant parents. Seventy percent of the students at my school are receiving free or reduced-price lunches.
My students are hardworking and enthusiastic learners.
They are easily motivated and enjoy attending school every day. They are always excited to learn new concepts. My students inspire me every day to be better teachers. I could not ask for a better group of students.
My Project
Exploration time is essential to early learning. I like providing multiple times in our daily routine for these valuable hands-on learning experiences. Previous years, students share all of the building materials but since the spread of COVID 19 is still a concern, students are unable to play and build with the blocks we have in the classroom.
I would like to provide each of my students with an individual set of Plus-Plus blocks.
This will allow students to build and create with their own set of blocks alongside their classmates during STEM discovery time. It will also be great to send this set of blocks home with the students at the end of the school year!
