My Project

Having a therapy dog present in school promotes positivity and provides significant anti-stress effects on the body. Being in contact with a therapy dog calms kids down when they are upset and reduces anxiety and enables them to focus on learning. Children working with therapy dogs experienced increased motivation for learning, resulting in improved outcomes.

Therapy dogs in schools provide both physical and emotional health benefits for students.

Having a dog present in the Student Services Office promotes a positive mood and provides significant anti-stress effects on the body. In fact, the simple act of petting a dog has the effect of lowering blood pressure and heart rate.

Research into the effects of therapy dogs in schools shows these benefits: increase in school attendance, gains in confidence, decrease of anxiety behaviors resulting in improved learning outcomes, such as increases in reading and writing levels, positive changes towards learning and improved motivation, and enhanced relationships with peers and staff. Your donation will help fund ongoing supplies.
