Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I just finished my Special Education teaching credential in 2018 and am now working on my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Autism at SDSU.
I am very excited about teaching and gathering materials for my first classroom. My students have a range of moderate to severe needs and learn best with hands on activities and have a variety of learning styles. My classroom could really really use your help to fill and my students will greatly benefit from your help and support.

My Project
I am a first year teacher! Some of my students have a difficult time sitting in their seats because they have sensory needs that cause the need to wiggle. These chairs will make a tremendous impact for my students and their learning.
By giving them a seat that they like and one that satisfies their sensory needs, they can focus more on the task or activity during instruction.
My students love to learn but can be distracted by their sensory needs. It is so important for them to be engaged in their learning and this adaptive seating method will be incredibly helpful.
