This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are amazing kids who are eager to explore their school environment and community regardless of their disabilities and language impairments. Everyday they come to school with a positive attitude. Many of them do not have the ability to communicate their wants and needs verbally. They depend on the use of picture symbols, eye gaze and gestures to be understood by others and get their message across to peers and adults.
Adapted books give children with autism an opportunity to participate in group activities.
Adapted books are interactive and full of color which makes reading fun. my students will be able to learn new vocabulary and expand their ability to communicate in complete sentences through the use of these resources. Adapted book makes it more accessible to a student who has difficulty with typical books since it makes the text easier, and pictures or visuals are movable. My students will be able to learn new skills and read books for nearly any topic.
