Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Incorporating specific items like flexible seating options, standing desks, and movement breaks will transform our students' learning experience. By embracing movement, we're not only revolutionizing the classroom dynamic but also enhancing their academic journey.

Our primary goal is to improve academic outcomes by promoting better focus, concentration, and retention through physical activity.

Research shows that allowing students to move while learning can boost cognitive function and overall academic performance. With access to flexible seating options, students can choose the seating arrangement that best suits their learning style, whether it's sitting on a stability ball, using a wobble stool, or standing at a standing desk. These options encourage active engagement and create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.

Additionally, we aim to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported and valued. By incorporating movement breaks into the daily routine, we can accommodate different learning preferences and provide opportunities for students to recharge and refocus. These breaks not only promote physical well-being but also help to reduce stress and anxiety, leading to a more positive and productive learning experience for all.

What truly sets our students apart is their unique energy, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. They thrive when given the opportunity to explore and engage with the material in hands-on and active ways. By acknowledging and embracing their individuality, we can create a learning environment that celebrates diversity and cultivates a sense of belonging for every student.
