Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Pre-K teacher in a Title I district in Oklahoma, in which 100% of our students are free and reduced lunch. My learners are sweet, kind, and joyful learners. They come in every day anxious to see what we are working on, and ready to master every concept they are given.

My students radiate excitement to learn, so it is fun to give them projects and activities that challenge their creativity.

With them. each day is a new opportunity to think about academia in diverse, challenging, and fascinating ways. Plus, through the activities they are given, they begin to develop passions and envision themselves as doctors, teachers, engineers, business owners, and much more. It is these moments of recognizing the value in knowledge that fuels my teacher heart and their student minds.

I would love to continue providing resources and opportunities for these little ones, as they will quickly become the future of our world! If you can donate any amount, it would bless my students tremendously. Thank you in advance!

My Project

I believe these resources will keep my students active and learning in unique ways!

I am so excited to implement strategies and activities that will help students learn while being active!

Each tool included in this project targets active learning, through keeping students moving and exercising. Whether they are stacking blocks with the LEGO DUPLO bricks in small groups, or jumping rope on the playground, my students will be engaging in activities that develop their cognitive and fine motor skills.

In Pre-K and other grades, it is important to have students moving as they learn. For example, having a water/sand sensory board would keep students on their feet and developing active skills, such as digging, building, and much more. While these strategies may seem normal to most, they are critical for the physical development of early childhood students.

Therefore, I feel that these diverse items all target one common goal--active learning that encourages thinking through motion.
