Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a very active group of fifth grade students. They are hard working students who not only work hard in the classroom, but also can't wait to get outside to play. I have a great group of students who enjoy playing outdoors, but their games and skills are limited.
Our school serves a low income community where the majority of the students are on free and reduced breakfast and lunch.
My students are extremely dedicated to school. Many of my students live in apartments and do not get a chance to get out and play like I did when I was a child. Nowadays students are spending more time indoors watching TV or playing videos games, which is the opposite of how I grew up. I spent most of my time outside playing different sports and making up new games. These resources will help my students to find new ways to be active outside the classroom and even outside their apartments. I am hoping to show my students new games and help to create a positive, happy, and healthy child.
My Project
These resources will help to create a positive and healthy child. By teaching the children these new games and activities that they can do outside, I am hoping to promote fitness and wellness. Many of my students only know how to play soccer. By using these supplies and engaging the students in other games and activities I will be able to help them to further their education in being strong, healthy, and promoting sportsmanship.
This project is so important to me because I want my students to be more active when they are outside.
I want to promote a healthy lifestyle and provide them with other outside games and activities to enjoy, learn, and share with others. I believe healthy happy kids will translate into students doing well in school.
