My Project
Recess or HAC (Healthy Active Child) is one of our student's favorite part of the school day. Students at my school receive thirty minutes of recess each day and use this time to play and socialize with their classmates. Our teachers help students organize engaging games and activities, however, our school does not have the equipment needed for basic playground games. Some of our students' favorite games to play are four-square, jump rope, soccer, and basketball.
Having this equipment will allow students more time for active play and receive the benefits of aerobic activity.
It will also help them develop social skills as they organize and facilitate their own games.
Brain research shows students who participate in aerobic activities (such as jumping rope, soccer, and basketball) perform better in the classroom. They are more focused and can retain more of the information delivered by their teacher.
Our students would love getting to use this equipment not only to improve their physical skills but their mental skills as well.
