Our classroom community is committed to cultivating a learning environment that meets the needs of each individual child.
Each child in our second grade classroom enters with various talents, strengths, and struggles, as well as their own unique learning style.
They work hard every day and always put their best foot forward.
In this classroom, we celebrate each others' successes and support each other in our challenges. These 19 kind, creative, active students know all about "just right learning" and getting "what they need". With their growth mindset, they persevere and show optimism when faced with difficulty. They truly want the best for themselves and for their peers and they know they have the tools to make dreams come true!
My Project
The increased demands in our educational system often require students to sit for extended lengths of times (which often exceeds an appropriate developmental level!). Whether working independently or listening to instruction, students are expected to hold their attention, be productive, and learn something new, all while trying to contain their little bodies that just want to move!
Flexible seating options allow students to choose a learning spot that works best for them!
By donating to our project, you will provide our classroom with four Active Learning Stools, two yoga balls with stability stands, four seat cushions, and two portable desks. These various options will allow students to keep both their minds and their bodies engaged during the learning process. Research shows that when students activate both body and mind, focus and learning dramatically increase.
