Help me give my students engaging graphic novels within their independent reading levels!
I am a second grade special education teacher working in an integrated co-teaching class, alongside a general education teacher. In our class, we have a very broad range of learners. We have 26-30 students each year with up to 12 students who have learning difficulties and individualized education plans.
We strive to build a comfortable learning environment, engaging students through a variety of experiences tailored to their specific strengths and needs.
In our class, we understand that not all students learn in the same way. We meet students where they are and find the best strategies and resources to help them succeed.
Students in our ICT class are starting to build their love for reading! They are continually looking for new and engaging books to explore. Most students who have difficulty with reading lean towards books with pictures and familiar features. As students grow older, it becomes more challenging to find lower level, high interest books for struggling readers. This graphic novel collection, ranging from kindergarten to third grade levels will captivate all of our young learners, across all reading abilities. Whether a student is reading a kindergarten level or third grade level graphic novel, it will be an enjoyable, shared experience for all.
