My Project

Using Folger Shakespeare's Library methods, my classes do not just read Shakespeare; these students act out the key scenes in the play. When you act out the plays, then you closely read and reread the scenes to determine blocking, entrances and exits, and tone.

Acting makes Shakespeare more relevant to today's students.

To do well, students make directorial decisions, such as who will play the characters, how do they use the space, and what tone will they use.

The props and costumes in this project will enhance their experience and allow them to feel like they are acting. In addition, making choices about costumes and props are part of the decision making all directors must do.
