Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our beautiful and large campus is shared by almost 3,000 students. Founded in 1898, our school is the oldest and largest school in our district. Here, my Ceramics students are growing their creativity and critical thinking skills while developing their artistic voice. Students support each others' learning collaboratively through group activities and peer feedback. My students are curious, compassionate and yearn for opportunities to exercise their creative energy. Our budget makes it difficult to replace some of our aging tools and supplies so we do our best with what we have.

My Project

Your donation will provide my students with acrylic paints and brushes that we will use to paint some of our sculptural works. Currently we have no paint and our glaze is on order. These paints and brushes will allow students to add color to finish out their sculptural work while we wait for our glaze to arrive. Currently this year we have not been able to add color to any of our projects yet since we are lacking in glazes and paints. Students will be so excited to be able to finish some projects with color and take them home for the first time!
